Welcome to
Aboriginal Awareness Week Calgary (AAWC)

Oki, Tansi, Danit’ada, Aba-wath-tech, Paarutit, Hello!

The Aboriginal Awareness Week Calgary (AAWC) for 2021, “KEEPING THE CIRCLE STRONG through our traditional knowledge keepers” reflects the pride of our First Nations, Métis, and Inuit communities by taking in their rich heritage, traditions, cultures, and keepers of Mother Earth.

Traditional Knowledge Keepers encourages us to acknowledge our resilience in “Keeping the Circle Strong” for generations and continue to do so for generations to come. This theme also expresses how our traditional teachings come from Mother Earth encourages us to live a life that will inspire and produce healthy future generations.

In “Keeping the Circle Strong” we honor the past, present, and future of our communities and continue to walk in the footsteps of our grandfathers and grandmothers. Join us in this celebration.

“A warrior’s purpose involved developing his abilities to become an asset to the village. Today, that “village” can be your family, community, campus, clients, co-workers-anyone you serve.”

The Tiny Warrior, by D.J. Vanas

We honor our modern-day warriors who keep our villages and communities safe and protected through their bravery, courage, love, trust, wisdom, and humility and by developing their assets through education.

Many thanks again, in friendship AAWC Committee
