Oki, Tansi, Hello!

Join AAWC and our partners for this week-long celebration of events that promote pride, understanding and awareness of Aboriginal cultures, traditions, contributions and achievements to Canadian society.  Since 2011, the week leading up to National Aboriginal Day, June 21st, is known locally as Aboriginal Awareness Week Calgary or AAWC.

Aboriginal Awareness Week Calgary 2016 is a reflection of the pride of our First Nations, Métis and Inuit communities and an opportunity to experience their rich heritages, traditions and cultures.

AAWC’s theme for 2016 is “KEEPING THE CIRCLE STRONG” – “Courage of Picking up the Feather - “Celebrating our Children, Youth and Young Adults.”

People of all ages and backgrounds are encouraged to attend events; enhance your level of awareness and develop your understanding of the community you live in while having fun!

Help us in our vision to create new opportunities for people to share openly and learn from one another.  By working together with open hearts and minds we strengthen our community and create new opportunities.
